Best Beans for Bold Aeropress Brews
The AeroPress is definitely one of my favourite brewing methods. It's incredibly versatile, forgiving, and capable of brewing amazing-tasting coffee. Just about all of our coffees work really well with the AeroPress, whether you're using chocolate-heavy blends via the "Alan Adler Original" method or light to medium roast single-origin coffees via the inverted method.
As always, I recommend grinding your own whole coffee beans if you can. If you can't, just select "Pre-ground for AeroPress" at checkout, and we'll grind it to the perfect consistency, so all you need to do is brew and enjoy.

Q: Do I need special beans for AeroPress?
A: Not really! The AeroPress is very versatile. If you fancy any of our coffees, you should be able to make the most of them with an AeroPress. It just comes down to the grind and the method. For light to medium roast single origins, you'd ideally grind your own so you can perfectly dial in the grind, and you'll probably find the inverted method to be the most suited to these kinds of coffees. Medium/dark roasts lend themselves more to the original, non-inverted AeroPress method (as per their instructions), and also to having us pre-grind for AeroPress just after roasting.
Q: Can I use whole beans?
A: Absolutely. Grinding your own coffee beans is always the best idea, regardless of the brewing method.
Q: What grind size do you use for Aeropress ground coffee?
A: The grind size will depend on the beans and the recipe you’re using. Generally speaking, though, AeroPress grind size is slightly finer than filter but coarser than espresso, a sweet spot for balanced extraction.
